Who can join
Anybody can join us. No auditions are held and the only requirement is a love of singing, the willingness to come to rehearsals regularly and to perform with the choir at local concerts for charity.
Where and when
We meet on Tuesday evenings during school term time in the Clubhouse at Sutton Coldfield Rugby Club, 160 Walmley Road, Sutton Coldfield, from 7 until 9 p.m.
There is plenty of parking space and the hall has wheelchair access.
Unfortunately, because our membership is at capacity, we now have a waiting list for new and returning members
At present each member pays a modest fee of £30 per term which covers the running costs of the choir.
The choir sings a wide variety of music; carols, songs from shows and choral adaptations of popular morden songs.
The music for each year is chosen by a committee formed from and elected by the membership. All members of the choir have an input and are encouraged to make suggestions of music to be sung and in addition any suggestions for favourite charities to receive money from concert proceeds.
The choir was founded in 2002 when Tim Chamberlin, then the Arts College Director at Bishop Walsh School offered a new local group of singers, rehearsal facilities at the school, the aim being to promote excellence in music across the community whilst at the same time raising money for charity through occasional concerts. The choir's first concert was in September 2002.
Now in its 15th year, the choir's aims continue under the Musical Direction of Krzys Weber and our musical accompanist Anthony Beckett.
Over the last few years we have undertaken concert tours to Belgium and Holland. Our next trip will be to Poland in May 2018
